About Keel GRP
Business or technical. Rarely both.
That is the gap most small businesses fall into when they go looking for help with this. Consultants who understand the problem but cannot build the answer, or builders who can make anything but have never read a set of accounts.
Who you would be working with
The work is led by Gareth Morrissey, a consultant at Keel GRP, based in Limerick.
Four years in Strategy and Operations at Google, building the reporting and efficiency systems large teams run on. An Executive MBA from the University of Limerick, specialising in business analytics. And, at the moment, running the bookkeeping, VAT returns and payroll for a client's two companies personally.
That last one is not filler. It means the advice is not coming from someone who read about small business operations. It is coming from someone who was in a set of bank statements this month, reconciling them by hand, and who knows exactly which parts of that job are worth a person's time and which are not.
Plenty of people can build the wrong thing very well.
What Keel GRP is for
Large companies have entire departments whose job is to notice a process is wasteful and fix it. Small businesses have the owner, who notices constantly and never has an afternoon spare to do anything about it.
The tools to remove most routine admin are genuinely good now, and genuinely affordable. What is missing is somebody to work out which specific hour of the week is worth buying back, and then actually go and build it. Not a demo. Something that runs on a Tuesday when nobody is watching.
The name comes from the keel of a boat: the part below the waterline that nobody admires and everything depends on. It is a reasonable description of the job.
How we work
-
Look before quoting
No price is given on a first conversation, because any number offered before seeing the business is a guess. We look, then we quote a fixed figure you can say yes or no to.
-
Honest answers, including no
If the current way of doing something is fine, that is what the report says. Nothing gets sold that a business does not need.
-
Your data stays yours
Anything sensitive can be processed on hardware here in Limerick rather than sent elsewhere, and that goes in writing at the start rather than being assumed.
-
Plain language
No jargon, no acronyms, and no pretending something is more complicated than it is. You should be able to explain what we built to your accountant without our help.
Half an hour, no charge
The first conversation is about where your week goes, not about what we sell. If there is nothing in it for you, you will know inside thirty minutes and it will not have cost you anything.
